Hello! I haven’t posted anything on here since 2013, which is pretty crazy. So what have I been up to recently?

• I took a trip to Alaska last month that was really enjoyable. It is very pretty up there and it was really nice to get away for a while. There was not any internet where we were staying but I didn’t miss it as much as I would have thought. We stayed so busy doing other things. I got out of my comfort zone quite a bit (fishing, shooting guns, trying bear meat) on this trip and it was really good for me. I also started to shoot with my camera in manual mode on this trip. We had extremely nice hosts up there and they really made our stay special.

• I was inspired by MKBHD’s setup tour 2014 video (you can find it here) to clean up my own setup. I got a lot of the clutter off of my desk and did a lot of cable management. I am really proud of how it turned out. It’s not perfect though, the drawers are still a mess so I think that is what I will tackle next.

• I received a Fitbit Flex for my birthday in April to replace my beloved Fitbit Zip that I had lost. I really like it and wear it every day. Battery life is about five days and I really like that it tracks my sleep, something my Zip didn’t do.
• I took advantage of a pretty crazy video game trade-in promotion at Target and got a ton of store credit, which I used to purchase a Space Gray iPad Mini Retina. My wife thinks I’m crazy since I now have a big iPad & a little iPad (she’s most likely right) but I have found a place for both of them. I know tablets aren’t for everybody but I really love them and use them every day.
• I got some pretty fun video games this year. Two of the standouts would be Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U & Tomodachi Life for the 3DS. Mario Kart 8 is glorious in HD & a lot of fun. It also spawned the Luigi Death Stare. Tomodachi Life is a sequel to the Japan only Tomodachi Collection. It is very hard to explain but it is kind of like Animal Crossing mixed with the Sims starring your Miis. It is very Japanese but I love it.
• I’m still very much into comic books. I’m currently loving Ultimate Spider-Man, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, & Daredevil. Comics are awesome.

So that is a few of the things that have been going on with me so far this year. Hopefully I will have another post up here in less than 8 months.
